This Saturday, Groovy Goddesses will be grooving out at the bookfair at ITP (Institute of Transpersonal Psychology) in Palo Alto. The event is to celebrate the birthday of Enheduanna. Check her out in Wikipedia.
See details about the event and come on down and join the celebration:

Come join us as we celebrate the birthday of the Sumerian high priestess Enheduanna (2300 BCE)-the first poet of record-who has been inspirational to so many women artists, poets, writers and priestesses. Each year we celebrate her birthday by honoring authors of books published this year from the women's spirituality community.

Ok Universe, I'm ready. Let's rock and roll.
It's 12:30am. While I'm often awake and working, I must admit that tonight, I waited for the clock to tick past 12:00am to check out and see if the cover story including Groovy Goddess was published. And the answer is a resounding YES!
I am so excited! You can pull the article and check it out.
Please send everyone to my main site for apparel and my Etsy site for note cards.
Both places let you fan me on Facebook and follow my blog.
I hope you'll all help me on this journey! Hopefully with cards starting at $3.50, people who are excited can place an order!!

If 40 is the new 30, Facebook is the New Family
Here's something no one had to think about 5 years ago: I got an invite from my ex-husband's step dad to be a friend on Facebook.
My first reaction was one of bewilderment - how could an email from him even co-exist with my Facebook world? It's my cozy place to see how friends and family are doing. My way to not have to send the email blasts I used to do.
Fortunately, my ex's step dad is great and remains a big part of my life... so he is now a Facebook Friend. Welcome to the modern day family.

First Retail Check
Well, got my first retail check today and reorder. One small step for woman..one big step for womankind.
And everyone keep their fingers, toes, legs, eyes, and tongues crossed. A photographer is coming to take pix of me with my artwork on the 18th for a story with Palo Alto Weekly. A small distribution, but eagle eye in terms of audience.
If any of you know a blogger, reporter, or anyone who can write about Groovy Goddess, please send them my way. I want to keep the momentum going.
And look soon for a joint cocktail / trunk show event for Groovy Goddess apparel and rasbarri jewelry.

Seeing Magic in the Mundane
So, I never thought this would be the first retail location for Groovy Goddess...
Quite often, I roll into my local Postal Annex to pick up the various mail and packages that have arrived. Then there are also all the times the owner, Cely, has been my notary. Cely and I often talk about running your own business. The wearing of infinite hats. Doing things you wish you had someone else to do.
And every time I'd walk in with a Groovy Goddess T-shirt, she'd laugh at the design. And every one of those times, I'd pass the myriad of greeting and note cards she sells daily.
Like dawn rising over Marblehead (is that just a New England saying?) I told her I also carried note cards of Groovy Goddess.
Well, I'm happy to announce that I have my first retail location at Cely's Postal Annex in Los Altos, CA.

Build it and they will come... with alot of hard work.
So, it's been about a week since I posted anything. I have to admit that there was the post mania crash from the sheer effort to get everything up and running. And then there was all the usual suspects... work, child, work, life, and did I mention work?
I'm happy to say that after more than one year of having spoken to whole body team members at two Whole Foods locations, I just completed their extensive application and submitted it just moments ago.
While it will take 4-6 weeks to even know if I get the opportunity to send in samples, I am looking up, awaiting the clouds to clear and a rainbow to shine through!

Out to the universe and beyond.
I did it! After untold hours, I got everything up and running! I've sent emails, posted on facebook, blogging now, and will tweet in the morning.
I find it quite ironic that the two people helping me immensely right now are 1) a devout Christian and b) a devout atheist. But as one of my advisors would say, "that is the way of the goddess."
More soon on the first retail location for note cards.
grazie, gracias, merci, תודה, salamat, danke, and thank you!
